What does the New Testament say about why we as Christians need to be led by the Holy Spirit

Hi everyone, in this post I am posting some scripture and quotes about how we should be led by the Holy Spirit as Christians and lead a spiritual life and how Jesus can reveal truth through the Spirit. Our spiritual gifts and the ministry roles in the church and the body of Christ are appointed by Jesus.

Jesus said in John 14 before h departed the earth he would give his believers the Comforter which is the Holy Spirit in (John 14 16-17). Jesus did this so to help his believers in their walk with their faith journey and also to help support the church members and the physical church self itself. You can get the Holy Spirit through faith and baptism usually. I myself at 17 was given one of these gifts listed which as helped me in life.

Fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23 (What we should nurture)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance”

Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Our spiritual talents and gifts which we should use to bring light to others.

(1 Corinthians 12:8-10)

“For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit. To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues”

(1 Corinthians 12:28)

" And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues"
.
Ephesians 4
“And he (Jesus) gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

John 14

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter (the advocate/Holy Spirit)

Ephesians 1: 17

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Gather of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him”

John 16

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth (the Holy Spiirt), is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you”

Romans 8

"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God."

Ephesians 5

“ Be filled with the Spirit”

1 Corinthians 2:10

“But God has revealed them to us by his Spirit”

Galatians 5:22-25

“If we live by in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit”

Ephesians 3:16

“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man”

Acts 2

“Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?”

Acts 20

“ And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified”

1 Corinthians 6:

" Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?"

Romans 8 1-2

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death".

Romans 8:16

"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God"

Romans 12

"Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness."

(Luke 10 :22-25) This is about the world of the Holy Spirit and how they can show you things of the spiritual world

"And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. (Luke 11:11-13)

" If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"

We are called to humble dependence and meditation upon the Spirit. Transformation is rarely immediate. Spiritual journey is not primarily about climbing towards God, but consenting to be spiritually formed and transformed by God. The spirit moves quietly, often imperceptibly, reshaping us beneath the surface.
