The Fruits of the Spirit and remembering Mary Poppins

Hi everyone, this is a light post. When I was a child I liked to watch Mary Poppins when it came on the television. I think that many people knew this movie. Mary Poppins was a fictional movie based on a nanny that came in to look after two children. Mary Poppins as a nanny had many good qualities about her.

Let’s keep in mind that this was fictional. Mary Poppins in the movie though had many qualities of the Fruits of the Spirit in (Galatians 5:22–23). The Fruits of the Spirit in Galatians are love, joy, peace, self control, gentleness, kindness, patience, faithfulness and goodness that we should nurture as Christians.

Mary Poppins had them all in this movie the Fruits of the Spirit when I counted. It is another way to remember the Fruits of the Spirit. In my life I was good with overall respecting humanity and experienced joy through writing.

With the Fruits of the Spirit we can have more likeness of Christ.

I counted more similarities in the movie as well about Christian values with it themes of redemption and grace. I also noted that it can be a modern twist of a tale about the Holy Spirit.

This short leaflet by Gospel Imprint speaks of how we can become more ourselves as Christians.
